All About DNA

DNA. What is it?

DNA, A.K.A. deoxyribonucleic acid, is found in cells of a living organism. DNA contains the genetic information that makes up the structure and the look of a person that makes you look like yourself and not like someone else. No two people have the same DNA except for identical twins. As for relatives, you and a cousin, aunt, uncle, brother or sister have a genetic link in your DNA. But, it will not be the same.

The Structure

DNA is a double stranded molecule-helix. It is based of a non-covalent hydrogen. Which is the bonding between paired bases. The bases are: Adenine (A), Thymine (T), Cytosine (C), and Guanine (G).

(A) and (T) are connected by two hydrogen bonds. While (C) and (G) are connected by Three hydrogen bonds. And each strand is composed of a sugar phosphate backbone.
